Information Regarding the need for a Referendum Vote
Bargaining Team Structure:
The bargaining team for our Independent Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) is composed of the following members:
1. Local President
2. Executive Vice President
3. Secretary
4. Additional members appointed by the President, with the advice and consent of the Executive Board.
All appointed positions on the bargaining team can be revoked or altered through the same process by which they were appointed, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of the local and its members.
Our local union values the active participation and authority of our membership, which serves as the foundational element for all union affairs. This governance structure is in accordance with Article VII, Section 1 of our by-laws:
The affairs of this Local are directed by the membership, ensuring alignment with the CWA National Constitution and Union policies. Members can influence decisions through actions taken in general membership meetings or via a membership referendum.
We take pride in maintaining transparency and actively engaging our members in the decision-making process. This practice not only strengthens our collective efforts but also adheres to the democratic principles that guide our operations.
We encourage all members to participate actively and engage with the activities of the bargaining team and all union endeavors. Should you have any questions or require further clarification regarding the roles or the appointment process within the bargaining team, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our union.
In solidarity,
CWA Local 3176 Executive Board
